I like to make computer art, for which I use my own photos.
I have years of experience using CAD systems of different types, I now use Autocad for illustrating my manuals and other work as a technical author, its great and there is a lot of detail which is missed from a photo. Emphasis can be given to just the right area of the drawing.
I have twenty years of experience and knowledge to create good documentation for use by staff or for your customers.

A Technical Author/Illustrator is involved in a variety of activities, examples include creating on-line help systems, parts manuals, designing and building intranets and their contents, writing and editing textbooks, preparing training courses, compiling service guides and ensuring software manuals are meaningful, assisting in designing software user interfaces, graphical documentation of systems - the list is almost endless.

Some companies attempt to use people from within departments, such as training or engineering to write manuals, but it takes these people away from their core skills and tasks wasting their time and your money, and maybe, not getting a great product.

I have worked on various projects covering parts of industry, from manufacturing electronics to MoD contractors, where apart from the need for good authoring skills I have a good level of security clearance for the job.
I can supply a CD with further examples and my current CV if required.

Costs: I charge by the hour, the rate is dependent upon the size and complexity of the task. A company from elsewhere will charge between £25 to £40 an hour for the same quality and expertise, its better to use me at local rates.
